Intérêts de recherche

Mes intérêts de recherche touchent tout ce qui est relié au transport, à la transformation, au stockage et au cycle du carbone dans les écosystèmes aquatiques, en particulier les lacs. Même si ces systèmes occupent une petite portion du paysage, leur rôle dans le bilan régional du carbone est disproportionnellement grand. Par exemple, on retrouve en moyenne autant sinon plus de carbone dans le fond des lacs que dans les sols de leurs bassins versants entiers. Je m’intéresse particulièrement aux émissions de gaz à effet de serre des lacs (CO2 et CH4), au stockage de carbone dans les sédiments, aux apports de carbone provenant du bassin versant ainsi qu’à l’ensemble des processus biologiques, chimiques et physiques qui influencent la transformation et l’ampleur de ces flux de carbone dans différents lacs.
